About The Position

Supervises assigned food services areas and personnel, ensuring appropriate staffing, scheduling, training, and coverage when needed. The role helps ensure accurate and timely productivity and compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines, and assists managers with a variety of responsibilities as assigned.

The position exercises independent judgment on non-routine problems under general supervision. It provides input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or deliver them. The role works directly with patients and customers, internal and external customers by phone or face to face, and other healthcare professionals and staff. The number of people supervised varies. The position is based in the Nutrition & Food Services Main Dining Room at the Yale Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and works nights from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. with rotating weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Oklahoma Food Handler's permit.
• Six months to one year of related experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned areas and personnel, including staffing, scheduling, training, and filling in when needed.
• Help ensure accurate and timely productivity and compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Assist managers and other personnel with interviewing, performance evaluations, counseling, reporting, in-service classes, department downtime, safety issues, and department problems; take appropriate corrective action.
• Train and positively monitor staff on hospital and department policies, safety, sanitation, computer use, and documentation.
• Communicate employee, equipment, and department needs to management.
• Support management and peers through words and actions.
