Food Services Supervisor
About The Position
Wilson Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility in Chicago’s Uptown Neighborhood, is seeking a full-time Food Services Supervisor. The role oversees food preparation and dietary operations, staff scheduling and supervision, food and kitchen supply ordering, delivery receipt and storage, and control of food and labor costs. The supervisor also helps establish dietary policies with the Dietary Consultant and Registered Dietitian and completes assessments and nutritional charting. Hours vary, and weekend on-call duties are required. The advertised salary is $58,000, with a full benefits package.
Requirements
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification.
- Knowledge of JCAHO, IDPH, OSHA, and CDPH policies related to food service.
- Food services experience in a long-term care and/or healthcare facility serving vulnerable populations.
- Supervisory experience; preferably in food service.
- Strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for adults with psychiatric disorders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure standardized recipes are used in food preparation.
- Establish dietary policies in conjunction with the Dietary Consultant and Registered Dietitian.
- Conduct assessments and nutritional charting.
- Supervise staff, including scheduling.
- Order food and kitchen supplies.
- Supervise the receipt and storage of kitchen deliveries.
- Oversee and control food and labor costs.
- Maintain an organized, safe storage room.
