The Clerical/Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations and workflow of the front and/or back office function of the department. This role involves planning and coordinating to ensure efficiency and efficacy in support of patient care activities, ensuring smooth patient flow and throughput, and maintaining continuous communication between physicians and staff. The supervisor ensures compliance with all regulatory governing bodies and standards, projecting a professional image. This position contributes to overall performance related to the Patient Experience. Responsibilities include administrative/clerical operations such as office and administrative support, purchasing and procurement, communications support, event planning and coordination, meeting coordination, and developing materials for meetings/events. The supervisor will also train and mentor lower-level staff and perform other duties as assigned. For the Diabetes Center, the supervisor will oversee the insurance verification process, including verifying coverage, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring timely reimbursements. They will handle complex accounts and higher volumes, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) and internal resource for the team, and will work on special projects as assigned.
