The Clerical/Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations and workflow of the front and/or back office function of the department. This role involves planning and coordinating to ensure efficiency and efficacy in support of patient care activities, ensuring smooth patient flow and throughput, and maintaining continuous communication between physicians and staff. The position ensures compliance and adherence to all regulatory governing bodies and standards, and projects an image of professionalism in appearance and conduct. The supervisor is responsible for contributing to overall performance relating to the Patient Experience. Additionally, the role oversees administrative/clerical operations including office and administrative support, purchasing and procurement, communications support, event planning and coordination, meeting coordination, and development of materials for meetings/events. The supervisor will also train and mentor lower-level staff and perform other duties as assigned. For the Diabetes Center specifically, the supervisor will oversee the insurance verification process, including coverage verification, obtaining proper authorizations, and ensuring timely reimbursements. This role will also handle complex accounts and higher volumes, serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and internal resource for the team, and work on special projects as assigned.
