About The Position

The Supervisor, Accounts Payable manages the end-to-end payment and accounts payable process for Horizon Media’s affiliate companies. The role is responsible for the day-to-day AP function for our growing portfolio of affiliate companies, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time and maintaining vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of full-cycle Accounts Payable processes, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and payment execution.
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex payment and vendor issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-service oriented approach to working with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and workflow of the Accounts Payable function for affiliate companies.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate execution of weekly payment batches, with a focus on transitioning vendors to ACH.
  • Review submitted invoices for accuracy and confirmation prior to posting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment issues, such as vendor data discrepancies, rejected payments, and compliance flags.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for all vendor payment inquiries from affiliate companies.
  • Manage the affiliate AP inquiry mailbox to ensure timely responses and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key affiliate vendors by providing responsive and professional support.
  • Work proactively with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and communicate payment status.
  • Identify and assist in implementing continuous improvements to the affiliate accounts payable process.
  • Administer and maintain the integrity of the accounts payable system for assigned affiliates.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of affiliate expenditures as needed.
