About The Position

The Accounts Payable Supervisor oversees the Trade AP function, supervising a team of Accounting Technicians and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices and payments. This role supports strong internal controls, vendor relationships, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
  • Experience: Three years or more experience in Accounts Payable or Trade AP operations
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards
  • Must be computer literate in MS Access, Excel and Word
  • Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Language skills: Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.

  • Experience working with accounting applications preferred; PDI Financial Suite experiences a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily Trade AP operations; assign work, monitor workloads, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices in accordance with policies and payment terms
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare account analyses and journal entries
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status
  • Apply and maintain SOX controls and internal compliance requirements
  • Develop, update, and follow AP policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and coach team members; support performance management and development
  • Provide hands-on training and act as a resource for new employees
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams on day-to-day and project-based work
