About The Position

AIG is seeking Summer Interns for the Actuarial department to contribute to the transformation of how customers manage risk. This 9-week program offers valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge, working with leaders on dynamic projects with opportunities for challenges, learning, and achievement. Interns will gain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment, participate in instructor-led masterclasses, hear from senior leaders, and build connections through mentoring, networking, and volunteering. Interns may be considered for a role in their internship location with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
  • Summer Intern positions are in-person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Majors include Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Completion of, or demonstrated progress toward, actuarial examinations is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; exposure to analytical or programming tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar technologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing an actuarial career and progressing toward professional actuarial credentials.
  • Demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.
  • Excelled in previous work experience

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and apply actuarial techniques to help quantify risk, price insurance products, and support loss reserving.
  • Assist with actuarial analyses, models, forecasts, and reports that support business and financial decisions.
  • Partner with experienced actuaries and teams across Finance, Claims, Operations, Risk Management, and other business areas.
  • Monitor trends and evaluate financial and insurance data to identify insights and support recommendations.
  • Communicate actuarial findings and analyses clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop technical and business expertise while progressing through AIG’s Actuarial Development Program and actuarial examinations.
