2028 Summer Financial Analyst – Capital Solutions (Class of 2029) - New York Private Debt Advisory
About The Position
The Summer Financial Analyst will join Houlihan Lokey’s U.S. Private Capital Markets & Advisory team within Capital Solutions in New York. Private capital markets transactions involve stages similar to M&A deals, including preparing marketing materials such as confidential information memoranda and three-statement financial models, leading counterparty diligence, coordinating management meetings, and structuring and negotiating financing through closing. During the summer, analysts will work alongside full-time professionals on live transactions across a variety of financing types, including acquisition financing for leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, growth capital, and distressed and special situations. The role provides experience in cash flow and three-statement modeling, running investor outreach processes, and understanding capital structure and private credit and private equity capital markets.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, with a graduation date between December 2028 and June 2029.
- Basic knowledge of and a keen interest in corporate finance.
- Strong qualitative analysis skills and ability to own a workstream end-to-end.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and leadership skills.
Nice To Haves
- Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
- Strong analytical and computer skills, including Excel.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare transaction marketing materials, including confidential information memoranda and three-statement financial models.
