2028 Summer Financial Analyst – Capital Solutions (Class of 2029) - Los Angeles Private Debt Advisory
About The Position
Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Solutions Group provides tailored financing alternatives and strategic financial advice. The U.S. Private Capital Markets & Advisory team raises capital across industries and advises clients on financing needs, working with private equity-backed, public, family-owned, and management-owned businesses. The team structures solutions across the capital structure, including unitranche and second lien term loans, asset-backed facilities, junior debt, and minority equity instruments. Summer Financial Analysts work alongside full-time professionals on live transactions. Private Capital Markets processes include preparing marketing materials such as a CIM and three-statement financial model, coordinating counterparty diligence and management meetings, and helping structure and negotiate financings through closing. The role offers experience in cash flow and three-statement modeling, investor outreach, capital structure, and private credit and private equity markets. Transaction types may include leveraged buyout acquisition financing, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, growth capital, and distressed or special situations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, with a graduation date between December 2028 and June 2029.
- Basic knowledge of and a keen interest in corporate finance.
- Strong qualitative analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and leadership skills.

- A fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
- Strong analytical and computer skills, including Excel.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside full-time professionals on live deals across a variety of transaction types.
- Help create marketing materials, including CIMs and three-statement financial models.
- Spearhead counterparty diligence and coordinate management meetings.
- Participate in investor outreach processes.
- Assist with structuring and negotiating financings through closing.
- Own a workstream end-to-end.
