Substitute Teacher - Losoya, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers for the 2026–27 school year in Losoya and the surrounding San Antonio area. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, covering lesson plans and serving as positive role models who encourage students’ love of learning. You can choose assignments that interest you and set a schedule of up to five days per week. Assignments may include daily or long-term positions, with pay of $140 per day for daily positions and $172 per day for long-term positions, paid weekly via W-2. The role may also involve lunch or recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Kokua offers support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and describes the position as a potential path toward permanent roles at high-performing K–12 schools.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
- At least 48 college credit hours completed.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to step in where needed for duties such as supervision, tutoring, and proctoring.
- Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
