Part-time Substitute Teacher - Harlingen, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers for K-12 schools across the Rio Grande Valley, including Harlingen, Texas, for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers provide classroom coverage and serve as positive role models who help students develop a love for learning. Assignments may include teaching, lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Teachers set their own schedules and may work up to five days per week in assignments they are excited about. Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
- At least 48 completed college credit hours.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to take on duties such as lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring.
- Pass state and federal background checks.
- Belief that every child has a unique and powerful gift to share with the world.
Responsibilities
