About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers for the 2026–27 school year in Cleveland, Texas, and the surrounding Houston area. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, covering classroom assignments and supporting students as positive role models who encourage learning. Applicants can set their own schedule and work up to five days per week in assignments they are interested in. Duties may also include lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. The role offers a path to permanent positions at high-performing K–12 schools. Kokua provides support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Applications are being accepted now, and the interview process can begin immediately.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• At least 48 completed college credit hours.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed, including supervision, tutoring, and proctoring duties.
• Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
• Submit a resume that includes relevant experience working with students.
