Part-time Substitute Teacher - Garland, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers in Garland and the surrounding Dallas area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers can set their own schedules and work up to five days per week at K–12 schools, choosing assignments they are excited about. The role offers daily and long-term assignments, with pay determined by education level and assignment type. Teachers may also support students and school operations through lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring. Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
- At least 48 completed college credit hours.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to take on support duties where needed, such as lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring.
- Pass state and federal background checks; the costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
