About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers in Keller and the surrounding Fort Worth area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools and help create positive classroom experiences that encourage students’ love of learning. The role offers a flexible schedule: teachers choose assignments they are interested in and may work up to five days per week. Assignments may include daily and long-term positions, with pay of $151 per day for daily positions and $167 per day for long-term positions. Pay is issued weekly via W-2. The role can provide a path to permanent positions at high-performing K–12 schools. Kokua provides support daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and reimburses background-check costs after 10 assignments.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• At least 48 college credit hours completed.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to take on duties where needed, including supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and test proctoring.
• Pass state and federal background checks; associated costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
• Include relevant experience working with students on the resume.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise students in K–12 classroom assignments.
• Manage a classroom of students and step in where needed.
• Provide lunch and recess supervision, monitor hallways, tutor students, and proctor during testing season as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model and help foster students’ love of learning.
