About The Position

Kokua Education is hiring substitute teachers to serve K-12 schools in Glenn Heights and the surrounding Fort Worth area for the 2026-27 school year. Substitute teachers choose assignments and locations, with flexible scheduling of up to five days per week. School start and end times vary; most assignments run between 7:00–8:00 AM and 3:45–4:45 PM, and schedules are provided before an assignment is accepted.

The role involves leading classrooms and creating a safe, supportive learning environment. Substitute teachers may also support their campus in other ways during the school day, including lunch and recess supervision, hall and bathroom monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Pay is $125 per day for daily assignments and $135 per day for long-term assignments, with weekly paychecks. The role is paid as W-2 employment. Kokua provides access to its support team from 6 AM to 8 PM every day, and reimburses out-of-pocket costs after 10 teaching assignments.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with students in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, coaching, or camps.
• At least 48 college credit hours.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Strong belief that every child has a unique and powerful gift to share with the world.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
