About The Position

Kokua Education is accepting applications for substitute teachers in Losoya and the surrounding San Antonio area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, covering classroom assignments and serving as positive role models who encourage students’ love of learning. They may choose assignments that interest them and set their own schedule, working up to five days per week. Assignments can also include lunch or recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Daily positions pay $140 per day, and long-term positions pay $172 per day, with weekly W-2 pay. Requirements

• At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
• At least 48 college credit hours completed.
• Confidence managing a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed, including supervision, tutoring, and test proctoring.
• Pass state and federal background checks; the costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
• Include relevant experience working with students on the resume.

Responsibilities

• Cover classroom assignments and lesson plans as a substitute teacher.
• Manage a classroom of students.
