Substitute Teacher - Bluff Springs, TX
About The Position
Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in Bluff Springs and the surrounding Austin area to support K–12 schools. Substitute teachers lead classrooms and help create a safe, supportive learning environment. They may also step in where needed throughout the school day, including lunch and recess supervision, hall and bathroom monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Teachers can choose assignments and locations and may work up to five days per week. The role offers weekly pay, with daily rates based on qualifications and assignment length: $129 for high school/GED, some college (48+ credits), or an associate degree; $150 for a bachelor’s degree or above; and $200 for long-term assignments regardless of qualifications. Kokua also offers a quick hiring process, a W-2, access to its support team from 6 AM to 8 PM every day, and the possibility of pursuing full-time positions at high-performing K–12 schools. Out-of-pocket costs are reimbursed after 10 teaching assignments. Kokua Education was founded by a former teacher and has connected individuals with K–12 schools for more than 13 years. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with students in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, coaching, or camps.
- At least 48 college credit hours.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong belief that every child has a unique and powerful gift to share with the world.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
