About The Position

Teachers On Demand is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic K-8 Substitute Teachers in Montgomery, Alabama, for the 2026/2027 school year. Substitute Teachers maintain a seamless educational experience for students during teacher absences and work across a variety of classroom settings. The position involves delivering provided lesson plans, supporting student learning, managing classroom behavior, and following school policies and safety guidelines. Substitutes are paid weekly. This is a W-2 employee position. Hourly pay rates are $15 for short-term degreed substitutes, $17 for long-term degreed substitutes, $20 for short-term certified substitutes, and $22 for long-term certified substitutes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited United States institution in a related field.
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments.
Commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning experience for all students.

Nice To Haves

Valid teaching certification or license for the state or province of assignment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher.
