About The Position

Teachers On Demand is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic K-8 Substitute Teachers in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 2026/2027 school year. Substitute Teachers help maintain a seamless educational experience for students during regular teachers’ absences, working in a variety of classroom settings and supporting students’ learning and development. Teachers On Demand provides staffing services to K-12 schools and districts and offers staff flexible schedules, professional development, extensive training, and hands-on management support. This is a W-2 employee position paying $20.00 per hour, with weekly pay. Flexible scheduling options are available to fit the employee’s availability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited United States institution in a related field.
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments.
Commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning experience for all students.

Nice To Haves

Valid teaching certification or license for the state or province of assignment.

Responsibilities

Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, productive learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners and accommodate individual learning styles.
Collaborate with school staff and administration to support student learning and address challenges.
