About The Position

The K-8 In-House Substitute Teacher fills in for licensed staff who are absent, instructs and supports students, and upholds and advances DaVinci Academy’s mission, vision, pillars, and goals. The role works across the school building and may involve providing instruction in a range of settings. For long-term substitute vacancies, the teacher develops lesson plans. This is a benefits-eligible position with a modified year-round schedule of 179 duty days. The stated start date is immediate.

Requirements

Valid Minnesota teaching license or substitute teaching license.
Bachelor’s degree.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to identify, interpret, and follow school policies and procedures.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

Follow developed lesson plans and instructional materials.
Develop lesson plans for long-term substitute vacancies.
Provide instruction to meet the needs of each student.
Work to maintain a positive classroom environment.
Implement and support the positive behavior reinforcement system established by the school.
Be flexible and work in many settings across the school building.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the DaVinci Academy community, including faculty, administration, staff, parents, and students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
