Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers in Arlington and the surrounding Fort Worth area for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers work in K–12 schools, set their own schedules, and may work up to five days per week in teaching assignments they choose. Daily positions pay $151 per day, while long-term positions pay $167 per day, with weekly pay via W-2. Kokua says applicants can receive an offer within one week and may gain a path to permanent roles at high-performing K–12 schools. Support is available daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Substitute teachers serve as positive role models who encourage students’ love of learning and help them recognize their potential. In addition to classroom assignments, they may provide lunch and recess supervision, monitor hallways, tutor students, or proctor during testing. Applicants must have at least one year of experience working with children, 48 or more college credit hours, confidence managing a classroom, and the ability to pass state and federal background checks. Background-check costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.
