About The Position

The Student Worker FSW supports daily retail operations by assisting customers, stocking and organizing shelves, managing inventory, operating cash registers, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store. The role provides students with practical experience in customer service, teamwork, and retail operations while helping ensure efficient store functions and a positive shopping environment. The position is for a student currently enrolled at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
• Basic proficiency in English to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward customer service.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting and stocking.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in retail or customer service.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling.
• Knowledge of inventory management processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by answering questions, providing product information, and helping them find merchandise.
• Stock and organize shelves to maintain product availability and store presentation standards.
• Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and reporting discrepancies.
• Maintain store cleanliness and orderliness to provide a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
