About The Position

The Student Support Coordinator partners with schools to coordinate support for students and families and implements programs and activities based on each school’s needs. Reporting to and directed by the Program Director, the coordinator works with community partners and volunteers to bring support into schools and helps implement SparkWheel, Inc.’s vision and goals. The coordinator leads implementation of SparkWheel’s Model of Integrated Student Supports, building relationships with school administrators, staff, teachers, students, and families, and engaging volunteers and community partners. The role includes reviewing school and case-managed student needs and assets, setting goals with approximately 55 case-managed students annually, and coordinating or providing supports tailored to students’ needs. Supports may include family engagement events, career fairs, attendance or behavior interventions, afterschool tutoring, food pantries, enrichment opportunities, and connections to community resources. The coordinator collects and enters student, family, and school-support data weekly in Apricot360, then reviews and analyzes data with supervisor support to ensure requirements are met and services are effective. At TANF Initiative sites funded by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, the coordinator must meet grant-mandated performance measures and outcomes. The role also includes managing budgets and resources, teamwork, and culturally sensitive and responsive interactions. The position is classified as exempt and full-time, with a 40-hour work week primarily during school hours, around 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The work environment includes schools and the community, with occasional travel for trainings, meetings, home visits, and travel between school sites.
