About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor for the course ANT3531 A00, "Capitalisme et ethnographies de la mondialisation" (Capitalism and Ethnographies of Globalization), during the Winter 2027 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences. The course explores processes related to globalization and the transformations of capitalism through an ethnographic lens, examining themes such as the city, work, social movements, and exchanges. The course is scheduled to meet on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Fridays from 11:30 to 13:00, with instruction primarily in French.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master's degree in anthropology or an advanced degree in anthropology.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the field of capitalism and ethnographies of globalization, evidenced by teaching identical or similar courses or by publications in this field.
  • Possess competence in the second language (English) at a passive level.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities
