About The Position

This posting is for a Postdoctoral Part-Time Professor for the course 'Anthropologie de la ville' (ANT2529 Section A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies. The course focuses on conceptualizing the issues and challenges of urban anthropology through reflection on contemporary urban processes and how they recompose and decompose social spaces and relations in a capitalist context. It includes evaluating how the environment, population movements, and infrastructure shape the 21st-century city. The course is taught in French and is scheduled for Tuesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, in person.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master's degree in anthropology or advanced training in anthropology.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the field of urban anthropology, evidenced by teaching identical or similar courses or by publications in this field.
  • Competence in the second language (passive).

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
