This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ANT4537, a course titled 'Anthropologie historique' (Historical Anthropology) during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course will explore how anthropologists' examination of the history of societies and their own discipline has expanded the conventional meaning of 'history'. It will assess how the growing appreciation of history's significance has redefined anthropological theory and practice. Potential topics include ethnohistory, regimes of historicity, conceptions of historical time, ethnography of archives and museums, production of historical facts and narratives, practices of commemoration and memorialization, experience, memory, testimony, and contemporary movements for historical reconciliation and reparation. The course is offered in French and has an expected enrollment of 36 students.
