About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor for the course "Politique environnementale mondiale" (POL4590, Section A00) during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa. The course will cover theories and approaches to studying global environmental politics, including interstate and transnational collaboration, new governance practices, and the material forces shaping political responses to planetary environmental challenges. Topics such as ecocolonialism, global environmental justice, transnational Indigenous environmental movements, and contemporary debates will be explored. The course is primarily intended for PhD students, and applicants are encouraged to highlight their relevant skills and qualifications. While not mandatory, a letter of intent demonstrating strong knowledge of the course subject matter will be considered. The course is planned to be delivered in person, but the mode of instruction may change due to health or other reasons.

Requirements

Doctorate or doctoral coursework in the field of the announced course.
Teaching experience in the field.
Clear indication of skills and qualifications in the CV.
For applicants who have never taught at the University of Ottawa, provide information in the CV or supplementary documents describing prior teaching experience or training (Article 10.9.2).
Competence in a second language (French is the language of instruction, implying English competence is also required).
