About The Position

The Faculty of Arts, Department of Classics and Religious Studies is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor to teach JCS3102 Selected Topics in Jewish Canadian Studies. The course will focus on the History of Antisemitism in the World and Canada. This is a new position for the Winter 2027 semester. The course is in-person and scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00. The expected enrollment is 45 students, and the course is 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are subject to change upon ratification of a new collective agreement, with retroactivity applied after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Requirements

  • Must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Must possess an active research and leadership profile in Jewish Canadian studies.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

  • Competence in a second language is not applicable for this role.

Responsibilities
