About The Position

The Faculty of Arts, Department of Classics and Religious Studies is seeking a Student Part-Time Professor to teach JCS3102 Selected Topics in Jewish Canadian Studies. The course will focus on the History of Antisemitism in the World and Canada. This is a new position for the Winter 2027 semester. The course is in-person and scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00. The expected enrollment is 45 students, and the course is 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are subject to change upon ratification of a new collective agreement, with retroactivity applied after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Requirements

Must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Must possess an active research and leadership profile in Jewish Canadian studies.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Competence in a second language is not applicable for this role.

Responsibilities

Teach JCS3102 Selected Topics in Jewish Canadian Studies, focusing on the History of Antisemitism in the World and Canada.
Deliver instruction in English for an in-person course.
Adhere to the academic year schedule from September 1 to August 31.
Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
