About The Position

This course will survey a range of topics related to the neuroscience of psychedelics including how psychedelics exert their mechanisms of action in the nervous system, the role of various transmitters in maintaining mental health symptoms and the potential role of psychedelics in reversing these symptoms, the various neurological effects of psychedelic drugs, contraindicated use of psychedelics with other psychiatric medications, and more. This course will be offered virtually.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or related discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of the course content area (Neuroscience of Psychedelics).
  • Competence in English (language of instruction).

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Neuroscience of Psychedelics course (PSY6138 Section A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Deliver the course virtually.
  • Adhere to the current APTPUO collective agreements.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
