About The Position
The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach DVM 4151 International Development Policy and Practice (3 units) during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course focuses on the study of public policy formulation and development practices in developing countries, with an emphasis on policy processes affecting domestic and international actors and reshaping relations between state, economy, and society. The course component is a seminar and will be delivered in person.
Requirements
- Ph.D completed or in progress, or, equivalent experience in the field of social sciences and International Development.
- 54 university units including DVM 2105, DVM 2106.
- Competence in a second language.

Responsibilities
- Teach DVM 4151 International Development Policy and Practice (3 units).
- Study public policy formulation and development practices on developing countries.
- Emphasize policy processes affecting domestic and international actors and reshaping relations between state, economy and society.
- Deliver the course in person.
- Submit a one-to-two page proposal on an important topic, outlining how they would teach this course (theme, content, literature, pedagogy).
