About The Position

This course considers representations of gender and sex identities within literary texts as well as how sex and gender have shaped the ways that literature is produced, read, and talked about. Topics may include feminist literary experimentation; 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility in historical and contemporary writing; intersections among sex, gender, race, and class identities in literary texts; and the history of women’s authorship and publishing.

Requirements

  • Ph.D (English)
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Competence in English (language of instruction).

  • Research expertise and publications in the area of sex and gender identities in literary texts.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Critical Conversations: Sex and Gender Identities (ENG2180 A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
  • Adhere to the hiring process governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.
