About The Position

This position is for a Student Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to the Literatures of Asia and the Asian Diaspora (ENG2175 Section A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course will introduce students to authors, works, and movements in the literatures of Asia and the Asian Diaspora, considering their social, cultural, and historical contexts. The focus will be on English-language texts, with the possibility of including some texts in translation. The specific genres, forms, topics, and regions of focus may vary.

Requirements

  • Ph.D (English) with relevant experience in Asian and/or South Asian literature.
  • Research expertise and publications in Asian and/or South Asian literature are strongly preferred.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
  • Must apply using their worker profile in Workday if currently an active employee of the University of Ottawa.
