About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, specifically the School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies, is seeking a Postdoctoral Part-Time Professor for the course SOC7103 A00: Society and Nature during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course examines human-nature relationships, including environmental issues, degradation, conservation, urban/rural dynamics, agricultural systems, and natural disasters. It applies sociological theories from environmental sociology, conservation social sciences, science and technology studies, sociology of consumption, and food systems.

Requirements

  • PhD in sociology.
  • Track record demonstrating expertise in the field of sociology and nature, evidenced by previous teaching experience in a similar graduate-level course or through publications in the field.
  • Competence in the second language (Passive).

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course SOC7103 A00: Society and Nature.
  • Apply sociological theories related to society and nature.
  • Conduct examination of human-nature relationships, environmental problems, degradation, conservation, urban/rural dynamics, agricultural and food systems, and natural disasters.
