About The Position
This is a new position for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Psychology: Foundations (PSY1501 Section E00) during the Winter 2027 semester. The course covers the object and method of psychology, historical perspective, nervous system, consciousness, sensory processes, perception, cognition, memory, language, and thought, emotions, motivation, and learning. The course is proposed to be delivered in person. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hiring process will be governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Psychology
- Comprehensive knowledge of the different fields of Psychology
- Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Nice To Haves
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach Introduction to Psychology: Foundations (PSY1501 Section E00).
- Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).
- Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
- Arrange a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
