About The Position

This Graduate Assistant (GA) position supports the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility and the Office of Student Conduct at Tulane University. The GA will provide operational, administrative, and programmatic support to both offices, with a primary focus on the Goldman Center. Key responsibilities include serving as a front-line representative, assisting students, faculty, staff, and parents via various communication channels, and promoting an accessible and student-centered environment. The role involves supporting daily office operations, digital accessibility initiatives, assistive technology, communications, social media, marketing, records management, and special projects. Additionally, the GA will provide support for Student Conduct initiatives, including sanction facilitation on select weekends, educational programming, and operational support for conduct-related actions. This position requires in-person availability on Tulane University’s Uptown campus during standard office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm) and occasional support outside of business hours, typically on Saturday mornings for Student Conduct responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Must be enrolled in a Tulane graduate program
  • In-person work on the Uptown campus; remote work not available

Responsibilities

  • Serve as front-line office support for the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility by assisting students, faculty, staff, and parents/families via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Monitor and manage departmental email accounts, phone calls, and office traffic.
  • Maintain a welcoming, accessible, and professional office environment.
  • Assist with operational and administrative support for accessibility and accommodation processes.
  • Support digital accessibility initiatives and help ensure communications and materials align with accessibility best practices.
  • Assist with social media content creation, marketing efforts, and departmental communications.
  • Support records management, data entry, filing, and other administrative projects.
  • Assist the Goldman Center and Student Conduct with research, reporting, initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with advance preparation, training, and supervision related to weekend neighborhood clean-ups assigned as student conduct sanctions.
  • Support educational programming and outreach efforts related to student conduct and community responsibility.
  • Collaborate with professional staff across Student Affairs and campus partners as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors.
  • Provide reliable support during regular business operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with special events and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.
