About The Position
The Graduate Student Research Assistant supports research activities within the Food Processing Laboratory by assisting faculty and laboratory staff with product formulation, small-batch production trials, and equipment operation. The role provides hands-on experience in food processing research, laboratory operations, data collection, and inventory management while contributing to ongoing research and development projects.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MS in Food Science.
- Approval of Dr. Prakash.
Responsibilities
- Assist Dr. Prakash and the lab technician with food processing experiments and trials.
- Prepare and batch food or beverage formulations according to recipes or research instructions.
- Monitor processing conditions, including temperature, flow rate, and drying parameters, during trials.
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately for small-batch production.
- Record data, observations, and processing results from experiments.
