About The Position

This Student Assistant 2 position is located in Tuscarawas County, New Philadelphia, OH. The role involves moderate and less routine responsibilities, requiring good judgment. The assistant can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks. Key aspects of the role include providing excellent customer service, demonstrating strong organizational skills, and maintaining a professional demeanor. The assistant is expected to represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity, adhering to The Ohio State University's mission and shared values. The OSU Extension Summer Student Assistant will work administratively under the Area Leader and programmatically with the County Educators and staff. They are also expected to work cooperatively with local volunteers, Extension Staff members, and youth in the organization and management of the OSU Extension Program. The employment period is from May to August, with negotiable beginning and ending dates.

Requirements

• Previous experience and knowledge or skill in a student assistant role

• Ability to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities for other student employees (if applicable)
• Provide excellent customer service
