About The Position

This position is located in Champaign County. Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. The student assistant may coordinate activities for other student employees. The role requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Previous experience and knowledge or skill in a student assistant role are required. The student assistant will represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity, applying OSU mission and shared values. The primary purpose is to support 4-H youth development educational programming and outreach engagement in Champaign County, Ohio, working directly with 4-H Extension professionals and staff. This support includes 4-H Youth Development programs designed for youth audiences, such as 4-H camping, membership engagement in skill-a-thons, project judging and evaluation, urban youth outreach engagement, 4-H programming at the Champaign County Fair, and team building and leadership development with teens.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities for other student employees (if applicable)
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values
  • Support 4-H youth development educational programming and outreach engagement in Champaign County, Ohio
  • Work directly with 4-H Extension professionals and staff
  • Support 4-H Youth Development programs designed for youth audiences including but not limited to 4-H camping, membership engagement in skill-a-thons, project judging and evaluation, urban youth outreach engagement, 4-H programming at the Champaign County Fair, team building and leadership development with teens and more
  • Assist in preparing educational materials
  • Assist with data entry for program evaluation and competitive events
  • Participate in professional and public meetings
