About The Position
The Student Assistant 2 will serve as a student researcher, assisting in experimental maintenance and data collection across various environments including the field, greenhouse, and laboratory. Key tasks involve the planting and care of plants, routine fertility management, and the construction of hydroponic growth systems. The role also requires performing measurements to document plant growth and production. This is a temporary, fixed-term position with scheduled hours of 10 per week on the first shift, located at Williams Hall (0414).
Requirements
- Education high-school to recent B.S./B.A.
- Some previous demonstration of proficiency in technical or operational aspects of greenhouse/field maintenance of plants
- Ability to solve routine problems
- Able to perform complex tasks related to data measurement and recording with only general instructions
- Able to perform routine data collection measurement and recording tasks without supervision
- Ability to work as a member of a team across departments
