About The Position

The Storeroom Supervisor oversees maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) inventory supporting all departments and maintenance functions at The Wine Group’s Ripon site. The role leads the administration, control, and continuous improvement of storeroom operations and inventory management to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy. The supervisor leads Storeroom Coordinators, Storeroom Attendants, and Storeroom Buyers. The position ensures that inventory is properly controlled, transactions are accurately recorded, and materials are available to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The supervisor partners with Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Planning, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and site leadership to maintain inventory integrity, optimize stock levels, and drive continuous improvement. The work takes place in office and manufacturing environments, including warehouse, maintenance, and production areas. It involves frequent movement around the site, occasional lifting and moving of materials up to 50 pounds, and possible off-hours support for inventories, audits, shutdowns, or operational needs. The role requires compliance with safety, GMP, food safety, and PPE requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in MRO inventory, storeroom, warehouse, maintenance, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Experience with ERP/CMMS systems; JDE is preferred.
Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, and inventory management practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to use ERP, CMMS, reporting tools, and data analytics to drive inventory performance and decision-making.
Experience maintaining inventory master data, part nomenclature standards, and material catalogs.
Ability to develop and analyze inventory, service level, and financial performance metrics.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and movement throughout warehouse, maintenance, and production areas.
Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate computers, mobile devices, and inventory scanning equipment.
Must comply with safety, GMP, food safety, and PPE requirements.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Maintenance, or a related field.
Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Experience with KPI development, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and inventory optimization principles.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop Storeroom personnel, fostering safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure effective execution of daily storeroom operations.
Ensure inventory transactions and material movements are accurately recorded in ERP and inventory management systems.
Maintain accurate inventory records; investigate discrepancies; and ensure the storeroom is secure, controlled, auditable, and measurable.
Report inventory value, performance metrics, and key findings to Finance and site leadership.
Ensure critical spare parts and maintenance materials are available to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Optimize inventory levels, supplier utilization, material master data, and stock nomenclature to balance service levels, inventory investment, and operational needs.
Use system data, reporting tools, and analytics to drive inventory performance and decision-making.
Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and standardized processes for storeroom operations and inventory control.
Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP requirements, safety standards, inventory control procedures, and documentation requirements, including SDSs and Certificates of Conformity where applicable.
Maintain storeroom organization, housekeeping, access controls, and visual management standards.
Oversee cycle count programs, inventory audits, and corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.
Lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, material availability, process efficiency, customer service, and cost management.
Partner with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Finance to support site objectives and continuous improvement.
Conduct periodic stakeholder reviews to communicate storeroom performance, improvements, and opportunities.
Perform other duties and special projects assigned in support of facility operations.
