About The Position

At Portland General Electric (PGE), the Storeroom role supports the company’s work to advance affordable, accessible clean energy and serve Oregon communities. The position is based at the Avery Operations Center and is responsible for pulling and organizing inventory to fulfill work orders while maintaining inventory organization and accuracy. The listed starting pay is $27.63, and the listed hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves receiving, checking, sorting, issuing, and returning materials, supplies, and tools; maintaining stock labels and storeroom and yard housekeeping; using hand tools; reconditioning and restocking salvaged materials; operating vehicles; and entering inventory transactions into PGE’s Inventory Management System. Employees may also assist with storms or other company emergencies. The company describes its operations as requiring continuous service.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must acquire PGE forklift certification within six months of the start date and maintain it.
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

At least three years of inventory or warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work safely.
Keep stock properly labeled and receive, check, and sort material in the storeroom.
Issue and return material, supplies, and tools.
Use hand tools in the assembly and disassembly of materials.
Sort, recondition, and restock material in the salvage area.
Operate vehicles such as forklifts, small trucks, and pickups.
Enter inventory transaction data into the PGE Inventory Management System.
Maintain general housekeeping in the storeroom and yard.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist with storms or other company emergencies.
