About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and care for pets in the store. Team members may work as cashiers, stockers, or in pet care, and may specialize in one or more areas. The role involves helping customers select products and learn about pet care, processing purchases, stocking merchandise, assisting with deliveries and purchases, and feeding and caring for animals. The position can be physically demanding, including lifting 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Learning is supported through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers throughout the workday.
Help customers select pet products and compare food ingredients.
Fit pets with appropriate products such as harnesses and educate customers about pet ownership and care.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with merchandise.
Carry customers’ purchases out to their cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Answer customers’ questions about animal care.
Act as backup for coworkers when additional help is needed.
