Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About The Position
Store Team Members at Pet Supplies Plus provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and their pets. They help customers select products, compare pet food ingredients, fit pets with equipment, and answer questions about pet ownership and care. Team members may specialize as a Cashier, Stocker, or in Pet Care, and may perform a range of duties across these areas. Cashiers process purchases accurately and efficiently and explain Preferred Pet Club membership offers. Stockers safely unload deliveries using appropriate equipment, replenish shelves, and carry purchases to customers’ vehicles. Pet Care team members clean habitats, feed and handle animals, and answer customers’ animal-care questions. The role can be physically demanding, including heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for extended periods. Pet Supplies Plus supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable. Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old.

- Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide customer service.
- Be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
- Help customers select appropriate pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products.
- Educate customers about pet ownership and animal care.
- Stock shelves and process customer purchases.
- Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
- Carry customers’ purchases, including bags of kibble and cat litter, to their vehicles.
- Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
- Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and available offers.
- Support coworkers by providing backup when additional help is needed.
