About The Position

As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets. The role may include helping customers select pet products, comparing food labels, fitting pets with harnesses, educating customers about pet ownership, stocking shelves, processing purchases, and caring for the animals in the store. Team members may specialize in cashier, stocker, or pet care duties. The position can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable. The company supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.

Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers choose suitable pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products; answer questions about animal care and pet ownership.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet products.
Carry purchases, including bags of kibble, cat litter, and aquariums, to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Support coworkers by providing backup when extra help is needed.
