About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and their pets. Team members help customers choose pet products, compare food ingredients, fit pet accessories, and learn about animal ownership. They may also stock shelves, process purchases, and care for the store’s animals. Team members may specialize in cashier, stocker, or pet care duties, while supporting other areas as needed. The role can be physically demanding and involves heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for extended periods. The company supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening in applicable states.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide excellent customer service.
Be able to perform heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select appropriate toys, food, harnesses, and other pet products.
Educate customers about pet ownership and animal care.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Explain Preferred Pet Club membership information and available offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves.
Carry purchases such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Act as backup and support teammates when extra help is needed.
