Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About The Position
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets. The role may involve helping customers select pet products, comparing food ingredients, fitting pets with harnesses, educating customers about animal ownership, stocking shelves, processing purchases, and caring for the animals in the store. Team members may specialize as a cashier, stocker, or pet care team member. Cashiers process purchases accurately and efficiently and share Preferred Pet Club membership information. Stockers unload delivery trucks using proper equipment, stock shelves, and carry purchases to customers’ cars. Pet care team members clean habitats, feed and handle animals, and answer customers’ questions about animal care. The position can be physically demanding, involving heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Team members support one another when extra help is needed and are expected to be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
- Help customers select pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products.
- Educate customers about pet ownership and animal care.
- Process customers’ purchases accurately and efficiently.
- Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
- Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
- Stock shelves with pet products.
- Carry purchases, including bags of kibble, cat litter, and aquariums, to customers’ cars.
- Care for store animals, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling them.
- Act as a backup for teammates when extra help is needed.
