About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and their pets. Team members may assist customers with choosing pet products, comparing food ingredients, fitting pet harnesses, and learning about animal ownership. They also stock shelves, process purchases, and care for the animals in the store. Team members may specialize as a Cashier, Stocker, or in Pet Care, while supporting coworkers when additional help is needed. The role can be physically demanding and requires heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and pet products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select appropriate pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products.
Educate customers about animal ownership and care.
Process purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet products.
Carry purchases such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Answer customers’ questions about animal care.
Act as backup for coworkers when extra help is needed.
