About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and their pets. The role may include cashiering, stocking, and pet care, and team members may specialize in one or more of these areas. Team members help customers choose products, answer questions about animal care, process purchases, stock merchandise, unload deliveries, carry purchases to customers’ cars, and care for animals in the store. The position involves standing for long periods and lifting 40–65 pounds. Learning is supported through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs and pet care training.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
• Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Be knowledgeable about animals and the company’s products.
• Be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and help them select appropriate pet products.
• Share information about products and animal care to help customers find or maintain a pet.
• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
• Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
• Stock shelves and merchandise.
• Carry bags of kibble, cat litter, aquariums, and other purchases to customers’ cars.
• Care for pets in the store, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
• Act as backup for teammates when additional help is needed.
