About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and their pets. Team members help customers choose pet products, compare food ingredients, fit pets with accessories, answer questions about animal ownership and care, stock shelves, process purchases, and care for animals in the store. A team member may specialize as a cashier, stocker, or in pet care, while also supporting coworkers when extra help is needed. The position can be physically demanding, including heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for extended periods. Learning is supported through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs and pet care training. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening in applicable states.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.

Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products, and provide information about animal ownership and care.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide Preferred Pet Club membership information and explain available offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet supplies and products.
Carry purchases such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Support coworkers by acting as backup when extra help is needed.
