About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus is hiring a Store Team Member who provides friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and their pets. Team members help customers select products, compare pet food ingredients, fit pets with accessories, and answer animal-care questions. They also stock shelves, process purchases, and care for the animals in the store. Team members may specialize in cashier, stocker, or pet-care duties. The position can be physically demanding, involving heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable. Pet Supplies Plus supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs and offers pet-care training.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select pet products and compare food ingredients.
Fit pets with accessories and educate customers about pet ownership and care.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club memberships and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet food, toys, treats, and other products.
Carry purchases to customers’ cars.
Care for store animals, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling them.
Answer customers’ questions about animal care.
Support coworkers by providing backup when extra help is needed.
